Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday is one of our favourite days of the year. As always there were lots of delicious pancakes and plenty of helpers. A very special thank you to Bridget for being our pancake expert.

Fire Service

We had a wonderful visit from Dunlavin Fire Service last week. We learned a lot about fire safety and the work of the Fire Brigade in Dunlavin. We really enjoyed the visit and we will continue to try and keep our school and homes safe from fire.

George’s Marvelous Medicine

Third and Fourth Class have been reading George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl. They have thoroughly enjoyed the book and made a fantastic replica of the house from the story. They even got a little help from 5th class who made a very realistic Grandma. Well done everyone!

St. Brigid’s Day

We celebrated St. Brigid’s day with a lovely prayer service with Sr. Eileen and Fr. Ger. The senior room made beautiful St. Brigid’s crosses and the Junior Room made a St. Brigid cloak.

Maths and Science

Last week we combined our maths and science lessons. We have been learning all about forces in science and we explored how friction impacted the distance a toy car traveled. We tested out how far our car traveled on variety of materials. In maths we have been learning all about length so we used our maths skills to help us measure the distance.
